On Thursday 9^th March the maths prefects supported a Year 6 gifted and talented afternoon attended by ten enthusiastic boys and girls from St Joseph’s primary school. The objective of the afternoon was to enable the pupils to use their range of mathematical skills to solve problems related to ratio and proportion. During the afternoon they solved multi-step problems in pairs as well as individually. The competition to find the answers first was evident between the visiting teachers and pupils.

The pupils were motivated and involved in all the activities and they enjoyed learning new ways to approach the challenge questions. The afternoon was enjoyed by both staff and pupils and we look forward to welcoming them back to the Sacred Heart next year.                            Kay Dragoi-Maths prefect
