Our new Year 7 students were all set a ‘Summer Reading Challenge’ where each student was given a ‘Recommended Summer Reads’ list. They were challenged to read one book from a list consisting of books from different genres and to fill out a Book Report over the summer holidays.

Many students took up the challenge and handed their Book Reports in at the beginning of the autumn term. The standard of work was exceptionally high. The students were praised for their participation at an assembly and certificates and prizes were awarded to the two overall winners from each form. All students who took part in the challenge are able to count the book they have read towards their Year 7 ‘Reading Challenge’ scheme.
