Year 8 London Collegiate School Author Talk Trip
Tuesday the 5th of November 2024
On Tuesday 5th November we took 15 pupils from Year 8 to North London Collegiate School to hear from multi-award-winning children’s book author Tamsin Winter.
Tamsin spoke about her journey from a young age to becoming a writer and author. Tamsin’s debut novel Being Miss Nobody won multiple awards including the Awesome Book Award, the Brilliant Book Award and the Leicester Teen Fiction Book of the Year Award.
We also listened to what life is like when you are an author, getting inspiration for ideas and then turning them into a book. Pupils listened to Tamsin reading from her latest book and then had the opportunity to ask questions.
It was a wonderful experience for our pupils, who gained insight into becoming a writer and to inspire a passion for reading and writing.

A selection of Year 8 students received invitations to go on an amazing Author Talk Trip to North London Collegiate School. We saw our fellow friends and their beautiful school. As soon as we arrived we were given a warm welcome and escorted to meet the talented author Tamsin Winter. She explained how she got most of her ideas for her books and how she could relate to them. At the end she read an extract of her latest book, which was then followed by a question and answer session. At the end we were all lucky enough to meet Tamsin and we all received signed bookmarks from her.
